Brazilian Rosewood was used as the fretboard material for JB and PB until the mid-1960s, but it is now regulated by the Washington Town Treaty (CITES) and has become a rare material, but the sound that can be said to be unique to Brazilian Rosewood is highly popular.
The Brazilian Rosewood used in this model is dark and dense, and is so good quality that you can tell at first glance that it is of very high quality, and of course the quality is reflected in the sound.
The sound of the split pickups is very strong, and the PB-like pushout strength is universal from the 1st to 4th strings, which is "This is a plebe! It has a good sound that "faithfully reproduces the player's nuance" with excellent responsiveness to the picking nuance, and it is a player's advantage to be able to create infinite expressions by exquisite control of Tone, even though it is a single pickup. The body is finished with an ultra-thin semi-gloss lacquer finish that does not interfere with the sound of the body, and the hardware is also finished with a dulled Played Finish. The frets are the company's original SP-Series frets.
The frets are the company's original SP-SF-04 "WARM" stainless steel frets, which combine the smoothness and maintenance-free characteristics of stainless steel frets with the warm sound of nickel frets.
The original PB has a wider nut, but the Freedom has a slightly narrower nut width of 42mm, and the slightly thinner FCGR U-shape, which is typical of PBs, makes it easy to play even for those with small hands.
In addition, since the nut width was changed on the original PB in 1968, this model adopts paddle pegs with 1968 specifications, and together with the matching head in the same color as the body, "Olympic White," it has an austere yet pop look. It can be said that this is one of the points of this instrument.
