Hamer CHAPARRAL B12L

MADE IN USA 12 string bass CHAPARRAL B12L in excellent condition.

It has been 45 years since HAMER's double-string 12-string bass broke people's hearts when it was used on CHEAP TRICK's classic album AT BUDOKAN released in 1978....
CHAPARRAL B12L, a derivative of the QUAD BASS used by Tom Peterson in 1978
This model, manufactured in the early 90's, has a long scale of 34 inches, and other models such as the short scale B12S, medium scale B12M, and hollowbody B12A are also available.
In other words, HAMER was a rare pioneer of the 12-string bass.

According to the documents of the time, it has a quarter-sawn 3P maple neck, double truss rod, and mahogany body, although it cannot be confirmed due to the black finish.
Two EMG 40P pickups, which were overwhelmingly favored by many players at the time, reproduce the brilliant sound of the restoration.
The active circuit is equipped with the company's BTS, which allows the bass and treble to be varied by ±12db.

The condition of the neck is a concern due to the high tension, but there is no problem at all at present, and the truss rod has never been adjusted by the previous owner.
The previous owner has never adjusted the truss rod. The two truss rods protect the neck from strong tension.
There are only a few scuffs and scratches on the top of the body, but they are not visible, and considering it is from the 90's, it is a very beautiful instrument.

The B12 lineage has played an important role not only in the history of electric basses, but also in the history of rock music.

78年当時トム・ピーターソンによって使用された QUAD BASS の派生モデルとなるCHAPARRAL B12L
90年代初頭に製造された当個体は34インチのロングスケールとなり、他モデルではショートスケールのB12S、ミディアムスケールのB12M、ホロウボディのB12A
などがラインナップされており、言うなればHAMER は12弦ベースのパイオニアという稀有な存在であったのです。

ブラックフィニッシュのため確認できませんが当時の資料によると、クォーターソーン３Pメイプルネック、ダブルトラスロッド、マホガニーボディとのこと。
ピックアップは当時多くのプレーヤーから圧倒的な支持を受けていたEMG社の 40Pが２基、復元のきらびやかなサウンドも余すこと無く再生します。
アクティブ回路は同社のBTSを装備しベース＆トレブルを±12db可変させることが出来ます。

あまりのハイテンションのため心配されるネックのコンディションですが、現状全く問題なしで前オーナー様もトラスロッドは
調整したことがないとの事。強烈なテンションも2本のトラスロッドがネックを守ります。
大きな傷はあまりボディトップに演奏跡(擦れ)のみ見受けられます、見られず90年代のモノと考えると非常に美品と言えるでしょう。

B12系統のモデルはエレキベースの歴史だけでなく、ロックの歴史にも重要な役割を果たしてきたのです。

The items name with "USED" are used items, and comes as shown in the pictures so there may be marks of use. All items were tested by our store staff and we test each item one more time before shipping them out to make sure they are fully functional.
