Serial: 41317, Gretsch 6120 Chet Atkins, made in 1961.

This is the last year of the single cutaway model without standby switch. Very beautiful figured maple is used, and the beautiful look is unique to Gretsch.

The thin body, about 55mm thinner than the medium body, neck joint at 14.5F, and horseshoe head inlay, which are the characteristics of these days, are still present. Especially, the inlay represents a horse's hoof, which is said to ward off evil and bring good luck, and it is also the face of Gretsch. The zero fretboard also allows for a natural sound even when playing open chords.

The material is maple body with maple neck and ebony fingerboard. Two Filtertron pickups with original patent number are equipped. V-cut Bigsby with Gretsch logo, etc. are also original.

Controls are traditional style. Master volume, volume of each pickup, 3-way selector switch, and 3-way tone selector. 3-way tone selector is bridge side: boost low frequency, center: neutral, and neck side: roll-off high frequency slightly.

Replacement parts include pots, wiring material, capacitors, selectors, and jacks. These are all built in with 60's parts. The frets and nut have been replaced and playability is good.

As for the body, there is a patch inside the f-hole. The patch is placed on the part where cracks from the top cannot be seen, and it is thought that it was done to prevent the top from cracking.

The paint on the back of the neck is peeling and has a satin-like texture, and the paint is deteriorating overall. There are also cracks in the binding, cracks in the PG, some cracks in the PU escutcheon, and minor scratches and dings, but considering its age of over half a century, it is in good condition. Of course, playability is also good.
