USED Gibson / 1967 ES-335 Sunburst [05]

We are pleased to announce the arrival of a 1967 ES-335 Sunburst!

It is made in 1967 with mahogany 1 piece narrow neck.
The neck shape is about 40mm narrow and easy to grip.
Those who play with a "gripping form" with the thumb on the neck will find it especially easy to play.
Choking and vibrato can be easily applied, and the close distance between the strings makes it easy to make quick chord changes. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and inlaid with small blocks.

Pickups
The pickups are Steckard Numbered PAF.
The mid-high range is emphasized and you can enjoy the fast rising humbucker sound.
The high frequencies are well defined, but the sound is not sharp.
The output is a little modest, but it has both transparency and sweetness.

Controls.
2 volume, 2 tone, 3-way toggle switch.
All four pot dates are CTS and do not appear to have been replaced, but the only one we could confirm for sure is the rear volume, which shows the two digits of the year: 13766XX.
The toggle switch and jack are Switchcraft.
The condenser is a SPRAGUE .022.

Hardware.
The bridge is equipped with an ABR-1 tune-o-matic.
The tailpiece is currently equipped with a stop bar, but it looks like a Bigsby was installed and the hole has been filled in.

The pegs are double line, double ring Cruson triple pegs.
The strap pins have been replaced.

Sound
The mahogany neck is clear and tight for its age, and the response is clear and tight.
The sound of the Steckard-numbered PAF from this period has a strong impression, and it seems to be a good match for rock and blues because it can produce a sharp sound compared to the models from the first half of 1960.
It also seems to be a good match for jazz and modern music.

Condition
The instrument shows signs of use commensurate with its age, and there are scratches throughout.
However, each part has been aged and the paint has weather checks, giving it an old look that cannot be imitated by aging.

The nuts, frets, and strap pins have been replaced, but the guitar has been set up by a repair shop to ensure that it is easy to play, and playability is ensured.
