A 2005 Martin D-18 1938 Custom has arrived.

Alongside the D-28—which is practically synonymous with acoustic guitars—the D-18 has been beloved for many years.
Many people likely recognize the D-28 as the model with rosewood back and sides, and the D-18 as the one with mahogany back and sides.

The D-18 is often praised for its exceptionally pure acoustic sound and is renowned as a model that many guitarists ultimately aspire to own.

The model we’ve just received was built in 2005 and features specifications that pay homage to the legendary instruments of the late 1930s, known as the “Golden Era.”
It features a dense-grained Adirondack spruce top, mahogany back, sides, and neck; an ebony fingerboard and bridge; Waverly open-back tuners; Abalone dot fingerboard inlays; a tortoiseshell-pattern pickguard; black binding; forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing; a nut width of approximately 43mm; a 25.5-inch scale length; and a V-shaped neck.

This is a custom model with the model name and serial number engraved on a gold-plated neck block.

While there are fine scratches, dents, and some tarnish on the metal parts across the entire body, it is in very good condition for a 2005 model.
The neck shows a slight tendency to twist, but as this does not affect playability, we are offering it as-is.
