USED FENDER / Precision Special Lake Placid Blue [05]

In 1980, as the trend toward active electric basses—led by the MusicMan Stingray—gained momentum, Fender followed suit with this ambitious release.
Featuring volume, treble, bass, and active/passive switching controls, it offers the same sound and playability as modern active basses.

The dedicated brass finger rest, bridge, string guide, and strap pin are a testament to the passion Fender poured into this model at the time. Unfortunately, while it wasn’t a huge commercial success, it can be considered a pivotal model that paved the way for Fender’s resurgence a few years later.

It retains its beauty with minimal fading and few dents. There are slight signs of lacquer reaction on the back and bottom of the body.
