A very early Kramer model, an NS-2 from 1986, has just arrived.

1986 was the very year Spector was acquired by Kramer. The serial number, starting with “119 Brooklyn,” suggests this instrument was built shortly after the acquisition by Kramer.
The solid maple wings feature a subtle yet alluring grain, and the artistic through-neck construction creates a truly exquisite look. It’s in such excellent condition that it’s hard to believe it was made 40 years ago. The fact that the third-string tuner is mounted at a slight angle gives you a sense of the care that went into this handcrafted instrument.It’s equipped with the familiar EMG pickups. The caramel-colored backs of the pickups are a hallmark of 1980s EMGs, and the preamp is, of course, made by Haz Lab.

As is typical of vintage instruments, there are signs of wear throughout, but there are no issues affecting playability, and it functions perfectly.
