A 2006 Washburn N4 Vintage has just arrived!!

Nuno Bettencourt, guitarist and frontman of EXTREME.
He has consistently used his signature model, the N4, since his debut, and the newly arrived N4 Vintage is a model crafted based on the most iconic original N4.

It features the N4’s standard specifications: an alder body, maple neck, and ebony fingerboard.
The neck joint is, of course, Stephen’s Extended Cutaway.

The wood and hardware have been aged to look as if the guitar has been used for many years, and an “N4” sticker is affixed near the volume knob.

The year this particular guitar was manufactured, 2006, marked the transition from the “Relic” to the “Vintage” model name, and the certificate of authenticity confirms that this unit is an N4 Vintage.

The neck feels slightly sturdier than recent profiles, and the ebony used for the fingerboard is thicker than on more recent models.

This is one of the guitars for which Nuno himself was invited to the Washburn factory at the time to sign the back of the headstock; it comes with photographs showing him signing the guitar and scenes from inside the factory.
The certificate of authenticity also features his handwritten signature.

The aging finish directly carries on the style used on the Relic models, and the fact that the distressing is more pronounced than on later Vintage models is one of the defining characteristics of this period.

Additionally, the volume knob screw—familiar to Nuno fans—has been faithfully reproduced, giving it a look that longtime Nuno enthusiasts will recognize as “This is the N4!!”

The previous owner changed the rear pickup from a direct-mount configuration to a standard escutcheon mount.
The strap pins had also been replaced, but we’ve fitted new DiMarzio DD2200 pins to match the factory specifications.

While it shows some signs of use, this is a guitar that’s meant to be played!
While it has matured into an even more authentic N4, its overall condition remains excellent.

Since the endorsement program has already ended, the Washburn N4 is set to become increasingly rare.
