The Rickenbacker 660 Mapleglo is a popular model within the company’s 600 Series that combines vintage charm with a premium feel. While its appearance shares many similarities with the 620, it features special specifications unique to the 660, such as a wide neck, Toaster Top pickups, and checkerboard binding.

Charactered Maple with a beautiful grain pattern is used for both the body and neck, and the Mapleglo finish allows you to fully appreciate the wood’s natural beauty. The rich sustain and excellent response provided by the through-neck construction are also major highlights.

The two Vintage Single Coil Toaster Top pickups, which are central to the guitar’s sound, produce the sparkling highs and rich harmonics characteristic of Rickenbacker. They offer excellent separation when playing chords and are particularly impressive with arpeggios and clean tones. This model is known for delivering the classic Rickenbacker sound reminiscent of The Beatles, The Byrds, and Tom Petty.

Additionally, the wide neck with a 45.5mm nut width is one of the 660’s most distinctive features. Its design offers more room than a typical Rickenbacker, ensuring comfortable playability for both chord work and fingerpicking.

Visually, the large triangle inlays, gold pickguard, and checkerboard binding lend a sense of luxury. The design, which strongly evokes the atmosphere of vintage Rickenbackers, provides not only a great playing experience but also the joy of ownership.

Furthermore, this particular instrument is extremely lightweight at approximately 3.06 kg, making it a joy to handle.
