A 2007 Drop Top Classic in Translucent Black Burst has arrived.

Based on the Drop Top Classic, this model combines an alder body with a quilted maple top to deliver both a solid mid-low range and rich harmonics. As you can see in the photos, the Translucent Black Burst finish accentuates the three-dimensional grain of the quilted maple, creating a striking presence that exudes both a sense of substance and luxury despite its black color.The beautiful contrast with the white pearloid pickguard adds to its appeal, creating a sophisticated look that really stands out on stage.

The neck is crafted from hard rock maple, and the fingerboard is made of rosewood. In addition to Tom Anderson’s signature precision craftsmanship, the natural grip provided by the Even Taper profile ensures comfort whether you’re playing chords or technical lead passages. The 25.5-inch scale length delivers a responsive, springy feel, while the heavy frets ensure stable intonation and smooth bending.

It features an HSS pickup configuration with the SD1R, SD1, and H3 pickups. Furthermore, with the Switcheroo system and Vintage Voicing, it covers a wide range of sounds—from the delicate, sparkling tones characteristic of single-coil pickups to the powerful lead tones of humbuckers. The sound is notably clear and well-defined, with each note distinctly separated yet maintaining a musically balanced tone.It produces a transparent resonance in clean tones and a well-defined, expansive tone when driven, demonstrating exceptional versatility across all genres.

Particularly noteworthy is that this model features the Buzz Feiten Tuning System. It effectively corrects the pitch deviations at various positions—an unavoidable issue with standard guitars—significantly improving chord cohesion and intonation in the higher frets.
