The Deluxe model went on sale in 1969, shortly after the Les Paul reissue began. Compared to full-size Les Pauls equipped with humbuckers, it was produced for a shorter period; however, its popularity and rarity have been growing year by year thanks to a renewed appreciation for the unique, appealing tone of its mini-humbuckers.

It features a classic early-’70s Gibson configuration: a “pancake” body with maple sandwiched between mahogany layers, a maple top, and a three-piece mahogany neck with a volute.

It is equipped with two engraved, numbered mini-humbuckers. Since the production years are slightly off, we believe these have been replaced. Compared to full-size humbuckers, these pickups are characterized by a slightly brighter and tighter tone; they make it easy to convey subtle picking nuances and have excellent projection, giving the guitar a very playable feel.

The visible pot dates are 1377142 × 2; although the rest is obscured by solder, we have determined them to be original. It is also equipped with a “Black Beauty” capacitor.

The selector switch was broken and has been replaced, as has the selector knob. Additionally, one strap pin has been repositioned, and there is one mark where an extra pin was previously installed. The back panel has a slight crack near the screw holes.

As for its condition, while there are some dents and scratches, playability—including the truss rod—is good. This is a highly authentic original piece; please take this opportunity to consider it.
