The new BB series has an alder/maple/alder 3-ply body construction. The hard maple material sandwiched between the alder on both sides enriches the mid-range and provides a body sound that blends in better with the band's sound.
In addition, the use of maple for the body material enables direct sound transmission with the maple neck, reducing sound loss between the body and neck and ensuring that string vibrations are received.
Miter bolting for a tight fit of the neck
In addition to the four screws that fix the neck vertically from the back of the body, two screws are added to fix the neck end at a 45-degree angle from the back of the body to create a miter bolting system.
The body and neck are tightly adhered to each other, creating an intense sound that unites the body and neck. The energy loss of the string vibration is less than that of a normal bolt-on joint, resulting in rich sustain and overwhelming body resonance.
Newly developed YGD Custom V7 pickup
Newly developed original pickups are mounted.
Equipped on the 700 grade and Pro grade.
Active Circuit
The new BB 700 grade has an active circuit and a passive circuit that can be switched at the touch of a switch.
The active circuit is adjusted for the new BB with good grain.
Furthermore, the treble knob of the 3-band equalizer is delicately designed so that no volume difference occurs when switching, even though it functions as a master tone control when using the passive circuit.
Natural tone adjustment allows smooth, stress-free switching. High-quality gold-plated parts are used to prevent contact failures and deterioration of sound quality.
Battery alert LED on the back panel warns when it is time to change batteries by lighting a lamp, preventing sudden battery failure on stage.
Controller section
In addition to a 3-band active equalizer, the new BB700 grade is equipped with an active/passive circuit switching switch and pickup balancer to flexibly respond to the sound creation required by the player.
Convertible type bridge and saddle
The 700 and Pro grades feature a "string-through-body" construction that allows the strings to pass through from the backside of the body.
Compared to the conventional method of passing strings vertically through the back of the body, the strings are passed through at a 45-degree angle, which transmits the energy of the string vibration to the body without any loss.
In the general method of passing strings through the back of the body from directly under the saddle, there is a large loss of string vibration at the plate and saddle, making it difficult to transmit string vibrations efficiently and reliably.
The different contact points of the semi-circular saddle allow for a variety of player expression, from a crisp, clear sound to a warmer sound.
The brass saddles of the Vintage Plus bridge provide a deep bass sound, while the steel plates provide a bright sound.
Metal parts such as springs and screws are made of stainless steel for resistance to rust and corrosion.
* Long scale strings are recommended when stringing from the front side to the bridge, and super long scale strings are recommended when stringing from the back side of the body.
5 Piece Neck
Equipped with a 5-piece neck composed of maple and mahogany for a crisp and sharp sound.
The neck prevents warping and twisting, keeping the neck in a playable condition at all times, while the tight sound of the maple is complemented by the warmth of the mahogany.
Designed Neck
Compared to the previous BB model, the neck shape has been changed to a thinner neck. The new neck design provides high playability suitable for today's music scene.
Lightweight pegs
To match the thinner and lighter body of the new BB, lighter pegs are used than on the previous model.
The overall body balance has been improved for optimal playing comfort.
