This is a Radik Barrett Deems model snare from the late 1950's WFL period.
It is the predecessor of the famous so-called "Jazz Festival" model of the 60's.

It has a 3-ply mahogany/poplar shell with maple reinforcement, Radick's standard shell specs for this period.
It is equipped with nickel-plated hardware and brass hoops.
The covering is refinished, but in the popular "Black Oyster" color.
This Black Oyster covering has a very well-made texture, so much so that you can't tell it's recovering unless you look closely.
Although there are some lifting and stretching of the seams, we feel that it has been very nicely rewound.
The white paint on the inner surface was definitely applied later.
The snare seems to be a custom "replica" of the very popular Black Oyster from the 60's. The looks are really well made, the shell condition is good, and the sound is very good.
The sound has a warm vintage Radic-like character, combined with the fatness and power of the brass hoops, and the volume is loud enough to have a strong presence.

The shell itself is in good condition and sounds great, although there are some rusted bolts and other age-appropriate signs of use.
The condition of the shell itself is fine, and the sound is good.
Not completely original, but in good enough player's condition!

1950年代の後期のWFL期のラディックのバレットディームスモデルのスネアです。
60年代の有名ないわゆる「ジャズフェスティバル」の前身モデルに当たります。

3プライのマホガニー/ポプラシェルにメイプルレインフォースメントのラディックのこの時期の定番のシェルスペックに
ニッケルメッキのハードウェアを装備し、ブラスフープを装備しております。
カバリングはリフィニッシュですが、人気色「ブラックオイスター」です。
このブラックオイスターのカバリングが非常に良く出来た質感で、よく見ないとリカバリングとわからないほど。
継ぎ目の浮き、伸縮等も見られますが、非常に綺麗に巻き直されたものと感じます。
インナーの白塗りも後から塗られたもので間違いないでしょう。
非常に人気の高い60年代のブラックオイスターの「レプリカ」的にカスタムされたスネアかと思われますが、ルックスは実に良く出来ており、シェルコンディションも良く、サウンドは非常に良好。
ヴィンテージラディックらしいあたたかみのあるサウンドキャラクターで、ブラスフープのファット感、パワフルさが相まって、音量も十分存在感があります。

パーツ類もボルトのサビ他年式相応の使用感、経年感は否めませんが、シェル自体のコンディションは問題なく、鳴り良好。
ヴィンテージ品としては十分安心してお使いいただけるコンディション。
完全なオリジナル品では有りませんが、プレイヤーズコンディションとしては十分な1台！
