"Dobro"—the epitome of the resonator guitar!

The “Dobro” brand was founded by the Dopyera brothers in 1928.
When you think of resonator guitars, “Dobro” is probably the first thing that comes to mind.
Although ownership of the brand changed hands over the years, in 1967 the Dopyera family—the founders—established Original Musical Instrument Co., Inc. (OMI), and in 1970, the Dobro brand returned to its roots.
It’s well known that the company was subsequently acquired by Gibson in 1993.

This model was made in 1994, after the brand rights were transferred to Gibson.
It features a chrome-steel body with exquisite engraving and f-holes.
The maple round neck, with a nut width of approximately 47 mm and a 24.5" scale, features a bound ebony fingerboard.
The headstock is equipped with GOTOH tuners.
* The nut has been replaced.

Since arrival, it has been cleaned, had its strings replaced, and undergone truss rod and string height adjustments, as well as fret leveling.
The truss rod has been tested up to 60 degrees in both directions and is currently functioning properly (though there is little play remaining); the frets are low but still at a level that does not interfere with playing.
The body shows numerous playwear marks, pits, plating wear, and buckle marks throughout.
There is a deep dent on the top edge of the body near the 6th string, along with other minor dents.
The back of the neck, binding, and headstock are heavily covered in weather checking, and there are also cracks visible in the binding.
There is also some paint peeling near the neck joint.
The metal parts show rust, and while there are significant signs of wear and aging throughout, playability is excellent!

It produces the distinctive, pleasant metallic resonance unique to resonator guitars!
Thanks to the round neck, you can enjoy not only slide playing but also standard guitar playing with a unique feel!

Neck
