This is a K. Yairi Western-style YW-500P, manufactured in 1976.

K. Yairi, a world-renowned acoustic guitar brand, is manufactured in Kani City, Gifu Prefecture. It features a solid spruce top, rosewood sides and a 3-piece 35-style back, a mahogany neck, an ebony fingerboard and rosewood bridge, slotted diamond position marks, and eye-catching luxurious inlays.

This dreadnought-style guitar with a 3-piece back is characterized by the precision and rich tone typical of a long-established Japanese manufacturer.

The tuners have been replaced with Grover models, and the "Y" mark on the pickguard has been removed. Signs of use are visible, including discoloration, dents and scratches around the body, scuffs and wipe marks, picking marks, buckle marks, and tarnish, pitting, and rust on metal parts, among others.

Setup (cleaning, string replacement, truss rod adjustment, octave adjustment, and string height adjustment) was performed upon arrival. The originally narrow fret tops are set slightly low but remain at a height suitable for playing. The truss rod has been checked up to 60° in both directions and is in good working order.
