USED Martin / D-28 [Vintage/1979]

A 1979 Nippachi that really belts it out!

The Martin D-28, one of the company’s signature models.
The D-28 was first introduced in 1931 with a 12th-fret joint, followed by a 14th-fret joint version in 1934.

The all-solid dreadnought body features a spruce top and rosewood sides and back, with an ebony bridge and non-scalloped X-bracing.
The mahogany neck, with a nut width of just under 43mm and a 25.4-inch long scale, features an ebony fingerboard.
The sturdy, V-shaped neck is fitted with a square rod.
Between 1978 and 1979, the tuners were changed from Grover Rotomatic to Schaller, and this instrument is equipped with Schaller tuners bearing the Martin logo.
* The nut, saddle, frets, bridge pins, end pin, and pickguard have been replaced.

Since its arrival, it has been cleaned, restrung, had the neck straightened, and the frets and saddle height adjusted.
There is still sufficient fret life remaining, and it does not interfere with playability.
There is a noticeable dent on the upper right side of the body back, stand burn marks (with touch-up paint) on the back of the neck (near the 11th-12th frets), weather checking on the back of the neck, peeling satin finish, and peeling finish on the sides of the fingerboard.
While there are scratches and signs of aging appropriate for its age, playability is excellent!

Its appeal lies in its solid bass response and a sound that rings out straight and loud! Don’t miss the lustrous high end either!
