Fuzz: Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Jimi Hendrix's Arrival in the UK

Fifty years ago, when Jimi Hendrix arrived in the UK, it revolutionized everything from guitar playing and performance to the very conventions of guitar tone. This Visage model was developed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Jimi Hendrix’s arrival in the UK.

While this unit is based on a model with a simple circuit that produces a wonderful sound, it is not a so-called “reissue” fuzz. It was developed as a tribute to the innovative sound that Jimi Hendrix created over 50 years ago.

Exploring Sound with Jimi and Roger
Jimi Hendrix and Roger Mayer worked together, repeatedly experimenting and refining their sound. This unit features a function that allows you to explore sounds just as Roger Mayer did alongside Jimi Hendrix.

By swapping the three jumpers on the circuit board inside the unit, you can choose from 45 basic sounds and modify them in greater detail. The combination of these 45 basic tones with the DRIVE and OUTPUT knobs provides an extremely wide range of tones and allows you to tailor the playing experience to your preference.

50年前、ジミ・ヘンドリックスがイギリスに渡ってから、それまでのギタープレイやパフォーマンス、更にはギター・トーンの常識が変わりました。このVisage(ビサージ)は、ジミ・ヘンドリックスの渡英50年を記念して開発したモデルです。

本機は、シンプルな回路で素晴らしいサウンドのモデルを元にしていますが、いわゆるリイシューのファズではありません。ジミ・ヘンドリックスが50年以上も前に生み出した、革新的なサウンドへのオマージュとして開発したモデルです。

ジミやロジャーと共にサウンドを探求
ジミ・ヘンドリックスとロジャー・メイヤーは、共に実験や改良を繰り返してサウンドをつくりあげていました。本機にはロジャー・メイヤーがジミ・ヘンドリックスと一緒に行った様に、サウンドを探求できる機能があります。

本体内の基板にある3箇所のジャンパーを差し替えることで、基本サウンドを45種から選んで、より細かくモディファイできます。45の基本音色とDRIVEとOUTPUTノブの組み合わせにより、とても広いトーンの幅と、プレイヤーの弾き心地を決めることができます。
