Made in 1997, 6-string Orion model with only one double-string!

The serial number on the back of the head on this one indicates that it was made in 1997 and that the base model is an Orion.

The body top appears to be rosewood. Tone wood is mahogany as recommended by Alembic. The neck is 5pcs maple, with a set neck design instead of Orion's characteristic through neck. The scale is 34" and the nut width is approximately 55mm. The fingerboard is ebony, and the head is the coveted clang shape, unlike the Orion shape, which is usually used for 4 and 5 strings. Only the first string has been modified to be double-stringed, and the lower part of the body back has been boldly routed to mount a peg, and a ball-end bushing for double-stringing has been installed next to the first string peg. The nut and tailpiece are grooved, and for some reason, the second string saddle is grooved. The grooves on the nut and tailpiece are cut, and the second string saddle is grooved for some reason.

Also, there is a mark on the head top where the brand logo was removed, and the hole has been cleaned up. I wondered, "Why did they take it off?" When I shined a black light on it, a rectangular sticker mark appeared on the top and back of the head, and I was convinced "That's it! I was convinced. I guess they wanted to reduce the strong atmosphere of the brand as much as possible. The truss rod cover has been cut out for quick access, and there are two pots and a small hole for an LED or something on the side of the pot, probably due to assembly changes. There are also some holes on both sides of the bridge that have been filled in. Currently, the PU is original, and the controls are Vol, Balancer, Bass, and Treble. The battery snap has been replaced.

There is a paint gap in the center ply of the top of the body, and there are a number of rice grain sized dents around the body side jacks. Scratches and dents are scattered on the lower part of both sides of the body. There is a scratch on the horn area on the 6-string side of the body back, and a scratch on the tip of the cutaway on the 1-string side. The body back has general scratches and dings, but none are noticeable. There is a 2cm paint crack on the back of the head by the ball end bushing, and a toe-shaped paint crack on the 6th string side of the neck heel. There is also a crack on the back of the 2nd floor of the neck where a gap has been repaired in the maple ply section, as well as a paint crack from the 2nd string peg mount screw to the bottom. There are general hit scratches around the head. The treble knob cap is missing and the back panel screws are also missing. Each hardware is gold and has some plating loss, but is in working order. Please note that we have not checked the operation of the double-string section.

Overall, there are some modifications to the double-string on the first string, holes around the controls have been filled in, and there are some paint cracks and repairs due to age, but it works fine and is a great chance to enjoy an Alembic at this price!

1997年製、1弦のみ複弦化されたオリオンの6弦モデル!

こちらはヘッド裏のシリアルンバーから97年製であることと、ベースモデルがオリオンであることがわかります。

ボディトップはローズウッドと思われます。トーンウッドはアレンビックおすすめのマホガニー。ネックはメイプル5pcsで、オリオンの特徴であるスルーネックではなくセットネック仕様。スケールは34インチで、ナット幅は約55mmです。指板はエボニーで、ヘッドは通常4・5弦仕様のオリオンシェイプと違い、憧れのクランシェイプなのもおすすめのポイント。また1弦のみ複弦化改造されており、ボディバック下部を大胆にもルーティングしペグをマウント。1弦ペグ脇には複弦用のボールエンドブッシュを取り付けしております。またナットとテールピースには溝が切られており、何故か2弦サドルに溝が切られております。きっと溝がない方が調子が良かったのでしょうね。

またヘッドトップにはブランドロゴを取り外した跡があり、その穴もキレイに処置されております。『なんで外したんだろう？』と考えながらブラックライトを当てたところ、全体的に長方形のステッカー跡がトップ＆バックに浮かび上がり(* 普段はめだちません)、『そういうことか!』と納得。ブランドの持つ強さそうな雰囲気を少しでも減らしたかったのでしょうねきっと。またトラスロッドカバーは素早くアプローチする為に切り抜かれており、アッセンブリー変更の為かポット2箇所とその脇にLEDか何か用の小さな穴を埋めた跡があります。またブリッジ両脇にも埋めた跡があります。現状PUはオリジナルで、コントロールはVol, Balancer, Bass, Treble仕様となっております。バッテリースナップは交換されております。

ボディトップセンタープライ部分には全体的に塗装ギャップがあり、ボディサイドジャック周りには米粒大の打痕が集中して存在。ボディ両サイド下部にはスリキズや打痕が点在しております。ボディバック6弦側ホーン部分にはスリキズがあり、1弦側カッタウェイ先端部分には当てキズがあります。ボディバックには全体的にスリキズや打痕があるものの目立つものはありません。ヘッド裏側のボールエンドブッシュ脇には細い感じで木目に垂直方向に約2cmの塗装クラックがあり、ネックヒール際6弦側に爪先状の塗装クラックがあります。またネック2F裏にはメイプルプライ部分に隙間を補修した跡があり、2弦ペグマウントネジから下部方向にも塗装クラックがあります。ヘッド周りには全体的に当てキズがあります。トレブルノブのキャップが欠品しており、バックパネルのネジも欠品しております。各ハードウェアはゴールドのためメッキ落ちがありますが動作には問題ありません。複弦部分の動作はチェックしておりませんので予めご了承ください。

全体的には1弦部分の複弦改造、コントロール周りの穴埋め、経年変化に伴う塗装クラックや修復跡等ありますが動作は問題なく、この価格でアレンビックを堪能できるチャンスともいえます!6弦アレンビックをガンガンプレイしたい方にはおすすめの一本ですよ!
