Gibson Custom Shop is proud to present this 2024 Murphy Lab Light Aged reproduction of a 1942 Banner J-45.
This is one of Gibson Custom Shop's most highly regarded reproductions of the WWII "Banner Period" J-45. The top is made of thermally aged Adirondack red spruce, and combined with mahogany back and sides, the sound is responsive from the start and has both a dead and thick core.

Light Aged finish by Murphy Lab carefully reproduces natural weather checks, paint texture, and age of metal parts while avoiding excessive damage expression. Although new, the guitar has the appearance and feel of a vintage guitar that has been played for many years.

The 24.75" scale and slightly thicker historic neck profile produces a full, viscous bass that is typical of the J-45 when stroked, and a pleasantly resonant mid-high range with a three-dimensional and sweet feel when fingerpicked. It boasts a high degree of perfection that allows the dynamic and expressive tone characteristic of prewar and early 40s J-45s to be used with confidence in today's playing environment.
This is a relatively new instrument, manufactured in 2024, and has the unique texture of Murphy Lab Light Aged.
Since this is an aged instrument, it is not possible to discern any new scratches or signs of use.
There is no noticeable abnormality on the neck, and there are no problems with the playing condition.
