The flagship model of the “Super Axe” series, which has been a mainstay of the Japanese semi-hollow-body guitar scene.
Based on the ES-335 style, it combines the playability of a center-block construction with the airy tone characteristic of semi-acoustic guitars. It handles a wide range of genres, from jazz and blues to rock and city pop.

Another appeal is the solid craftsmanship typical of Yamaha at the time. The smooth resonance from the set-neck construction, well-defined chord tones, and a sound that is tight yet warm reflect the quality of Japanese vintage guitars, which have been gaining renewed appreciation in recent years.

The front pickup delivers a sweet, mellow tone, while the bridge pickup offers a punchy, open sound. The sound image remains clear even when driven hard, making it easy to handle within a band ensemble. It shines with a balance that combines the airy quality characteristic of solid-body guitars with excellent practicality.
The nut has been replaced.
There is paint chipping and a dent around the 9th fret on the G-string side of the neck.
The finish is cloudy throughout. There is paint chipping and a dent at the tip of the headstock. Additionally, there are numerous scratches and dents, showing signs of use.
While the neck is straight on the G-string side, the D-string side is slightly bowing outward, resulting in a twist. There are currently no issues with playability.
