Based on the classic JB62 style, the “JB62M” has been redesigned with a 32-inch medium scale.
This practical model from Fender Japan’s later production period combines excellent playability with a traditional Jazz Bass sound.

This particular instrument, bearing the MIJ serial number “T077362,” is believed to have been manufactured around 2007–2010. It is a medium-scale model, as confirmed by the “JB62-MID” stamp on the neck joint. The neck pocket retains the original “JB62 VWH” engraving, along with traces of a correction to “BLK.”

Featuring the classic configuration of an alder body (or similar), a maple neck, and a rosewood fingerboard, it is equipped with two Fender Japan-made JB single-coil pickups.Despite its simple 2-volume/1-tone layout, it delivers a well-defined attack and the characteristic range of a jazz bass. The 32-inch scale—shorter than the standard 34 inches—results in slightly lower string tension and a more compact fingerboard range. It offers a natural feel that’s well-suited for extended playing sessions or for bassists switching from a guitar.
There are some minor scratches and dents, but no particularly noticeable damage.
The neck is reverse-bowed on the G-string side and slightly twisted. The frets have been leveled, and there are currently no issues with playability.
