The Lakland SK-4DX features a pickup layout that combines MM-type and JB-type pickups, making it a highly versatile instrument capable of handling a wide range of genres. By blending the powerful, thick low end of the rear humbucker with the clear, nuanced tone of the front JB-type pickup, it delivers a modern, well-balanced sound.

The construction—featuring an alder body paired with a quilted maple top—delivers both a rich resonance and a clear attack. Combined with the stable string tension characteristic of a 34-inch scale, it firmly supports tight, focused bass tones.

The preamp features a 3-band EQ and supports active/passive switching as well as coil tapping. It allows for a wide range of tone shaping—from slap to rock and pop—and adapts flexibly to everything from live performances to recording sessions.

The exterior features a striking translucent finish that highlights the wood grain, offering a luxurious look that stands out on stage. This highly practical hybrid bass offers an excellent balance of playability, sound, and aesthetics.
