The "MS-85," a model from Kawai's MoonSault series.

Known as a rare model produced for only a short period, it features a distinctive crescent-shaped body and a set-neck construction, offering a luxurious feel. The headstock bears an eagle logo, and the fingerboard features a moon inlay, creating the series’ iconic and striking design.

It combines a mahogany body and mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard and is equipped with two German-made Schaller Hot Stuff humbucker pickups. Despite its simple control layout—one volume, one tone (with push/pull coil tap), and a 3-way selector—it offers a wide range of tones, from the powerful sound of humbuckers to single-coil-like tones. Equipped with Gotoh tuners, it also excels in practicality.

With an extremely limited number of units ever released, this is a rare model that is rarely seen today. Its appeal lies not only in its distinctive appearance but also in the powerful, clear sound produced by the Schaller pickups. This guitar is highly recommended not only as a collector’s item but also for those seeking a guitar for active use.
There are areas of paint chipping in several places along the body edges. There is a chip at the tip of the headstock.
In addition, there are scattered scratches, dents, stains, and tarnished metal, giving the guitar a slightly used appearance.
There are no noticeable issues with the neck, and it is in good playing condition.
