Even 40 years after its release, the “L” continues to be cherished by countless artists as a legendary instrument… The reason for its enduring value is simple: it has consistently delivered the highest level of sound and playability demanded by each era. It ushered in a new era of acoustic guitars in Japan, has continued to evolve with the times, and has always responded to the needs of its players. That is the L Series.

Featuring an original jumbo body and an all-solid construction, it features Ingleman spruce for the top and rosewood for the sides and back.

The top wood undergoes a proprietary “A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement)” treatment. This achieves a rich tone reminiscent of a guitar that has been played for many years.

The bracing uses the traditional non-scalloped X-bracing; furthermore, the addition of side braces connecting the top and back braces ensures that string vibrations are transmitted more reliably to the back.

The neck features a five-piece construction of mahogany and rosewood to ensure strength against warping and twisting; the headstock is reinforced with a rosewood veneer and a volute design on the back.

The neck profile is 1 mm thinner at the 10th fret than the previous model, improving playability in the higher positions. Furthermore, the rounded edges of the fingerboard provide a smooth playing experience that fits comfortably in the hand.

The string action and string spacing have also been adjusted: the 6th string is set slightly lower and the 1st string slightly higher than before, and the string spacing has been widened by 0.3 mm.

It features the neck joint design used in the Custom models. The depth of the dovetail joint has been increased by an additional 4 mm to achieve rich sustain.

To maximize the guitar’s natural resonance and the character of the wood, the entire body is finished with a stone-powder-sealed lacquer coating.
