Custom Crimson" was established in 2012 within the Gibson Custom Shop as a division where a few skilled craftsmen create mainly archtop guitars at the private workshop level.
This guitar was made in 2013 according to the label inside the f-hole, and was produced in the early days of Custom Crimson.
Starting with hand-selection of high-grade wood, beautiful inlay work using pearl and Avalon wood, and carefully layered binding, this guitar is a masterpiece of Gibson's traditional and innovative techniques, and you can feel the high level of technical skill when you see and touch the actual instrument.
Very beautifully grained spruce top with mahogany sides and back.
The top spruce and back mahogany are solidly machined and molded, and the sides are solid mahogany as well, rather than the thin laminate used on most hollowbody models.
The mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard are jet-black, and mother-of-pearl is used lavishly on the head top and fingerboard inlays.
The top-quality wood and woodworking techniques produce a supreme jazz tone.

There is a ding on the side of the front pickup, and there are some minor scratches scattered throughout the instrument.
There is a crack on the control knob, but it does not affect the operation.
The nut has been replaced, and there is a strap pin strike on the heel of the neck, but overall the instrument shows little signs of use.
It has been maintained and cleaned at our repair center and has good playability.
