A phantom Japanese-made Sting Ray model is now in stock!
As a predecessor to the Sting Ray EX, which was manufactured and released as a low-cost Japanese-made model in the late 1990s, this phantom model was built by High End Guitars using USA parts based on vintage specifications.
The neck and body are marked "21,3 '96-3", which suggests that it was made in 1996.

The bridge is muted like early Sting Ray EXs, but this model has a back-through design, and the controls are vintage specs: 1 volume/2 band EQ.

The truss rod adjustment is on the neck end, but there is no adjusting wheel, and the adjustment is made by removing the neck.

Ash body and maple neck/fingerboard with 4-point joints, both body and neck are finished with lacquer.

This is a very rare and fantastic model that rarely appears on the used market.
