USED LUDWIG / NO. 2205 VISTALITE YELLOW 14x5 inches [12]

We've just received a used LUDWIG NO.2205 VISTALITE YELLOW 14x5-inch!
Its yellow acrylic shell gives it a striking look. As expected, this is the VISTALITE—a model every drummer dreams of owning.
In recent years, various manufacturers have released models made from acrylic.
Acrylic is resistant to weather conditions, and its sound—which emphasizes the midrange—is highly valued for its compatibility with rock music.
Among these acrylic snares, the VISTALITE series is an absolute must-have. And since this one was made in the ’70s, it’s a model that truly helped shape a transitional period in the music scene.
The snare sound produced by the backbeat that underpinned countless classic songs continues to captivate many drummers to this day.

Based on the serial number, this is a late 1970s model.
The mute is still attached, and the hoops are original.
While there is some general wear, prices for 1970s Acrolite snares have skyrocketed in recent years, and actual examples are becoming increasingly rare. There is a slight step at the seam—though not quite a chip—due to age-related deterioration. However, this has little effect on tuning and is likely simply a natural variation common in Acrolite snares of this era.
Of course, even when used for playing, that classic Acrolite sound is still very much alive.
