Steve Vai himself named his signature model "PIA:Paradise in Art" as "the evolution of the JEM", "PIA3761". PIA3761".
The body is made of alder as in the JEM, but the body edge, contours, horns, and other features are newly designed.

〜Features
Symbolic "Petal Grip" designed to resemble petals nestled together
The grip design of the PIA is most recognizable as two petals nestled together.
Steve sees this as a visual representation of the synergy of two things coming together, and at the same time, an important symbol of unity, friendship, and mutual solidarity between people.

Maple/walnut 5pc PIA neck with shaping on Steve's favorite grip as well as JEM

PIA Blossom inlay", the artwork that symbolizes the Steve Vai model along with the grips.
The "PIA Blossom inlay" is a new inlay designed exclusively for PIA, based on the beautiful and flowing botanical design image often seen in Steve's own artwork, not to mention the tree of life inlay that was a trademark of JEM.
The fingerboard is made of rosewood, and the side position marks are made of luminous Luminlay.

The frets are jumbo size stainless steel frets with Prestige fret edge treatment.

USA-made DiMarzio(R) UtoPIA(TM) pickups" were designed for the PIA.
Based on Steve's recent tonal preferences, these pickups are specially designed for smoother highs, scooped mids, and defined lows.
All pickup covers are beautifully decorated to perfectly match the guitar's design concept.

Edge Tremolo Bridge
The Edge is the original Ibanez tremolo that Steve has been using for over 30 years.
Like the JEM, it features the Lion's Crow cavity process, which is a design feature as well as a good approach to the saddle positioning bolts.

Magnetic tremolo cavity plate" that can be attached and removed without the need for mounting screws.
The cavity plate on the back of the tremolo, which is a petal design, is screwless and easily removable.
