The L Series is renowned worldwide as Yamaha’s flagship acoustic guitar.
Even 40 years after its release, the "L" continues to be cherished by countless artists as a legendary instrument. What is the true value of the "L"? It is none other than its ability to consistently deliver the sound and playability demanded by each era at the highest level. It ushered in a new era of acoustic guitars in Japan, has continued to evolve with the times, and has always responded to the needs of its players. That is the L Series.

The LJX36C ARE is an electro-acoustic model from the "L Series 36 Grade," crafted by guitar artisans using techniques and experience honed over many years, featuring a cutaway body and ART pickups.
The Yamaha Medium Jumbo body type (LJ) is designed to provide a comfortable fit for players when performing while seated. It offers a wide dynamic range, from a substantial low end to crisp high frequencies, making it suitable for everything from lead playing to strumming.

It features an all-solid construction with Englemann spruce for the top and Indian rosewood for the sides and back.
The top wood has been treated with our proprietary "A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement)" process. This achieves a rich tone reminiscent of a guitar that has been played for many years.
The bracing uses the same non-scalloped X-bracing as before, and by adding side braces that connect the top and back braces, it more reliably transmits string vibrations to the back.
The neck features a 5-piece construction of mahogany and rosewood to ensure strength against warping and twisting, and the headstock is reinforced with a rosewood veneer and volute finish on the back.
The neck profile is 1 mm thinner at the 10th fret than previous models, and the rounded edge of the fingerboard ensures a smooth playing feel that fits comfortably in the hand.
Additionally, the string spacing—widened by 0.3 mm compared to previous models—and the cutaway body shape are key features for players performing melodies and lead phrases.
To maximize the resonance of the guitar body and the character of the wood, the entire body is finished with a stone-powder-sealed lacquer coating.

A.R.T 3-Way Pickup System (System 60II)
Piezo pickups tend to react sensitively to the attack of string vibrations, which can cause distortion. This results in a distinctive character that differs from the resonance of an acoustic guitar in terms of attack and sustain. Through extensive research and development aimed at ensuring reliable control over dynamic sounds while maintaining high playability, the A.R.T. pickup system was born.
The electronics feature the A.R.T. 3-Way Pickup System, which has earned the trust of professional guitarists. The contact pickup on the underside of the top serves as the main pickup, and two additional sub-pickups—one for bass and one for treble—are also included. By adjusting these sub-pickups, you can control everything from the realistic resonance of the body to the sparkling overtones.The controller unit is designed to minimize any loss of the guitar’s natural resonance. This pickup system delivers a “Real Acoustic Sound” that remains faithful to the tone of an acoustic guitar.
