An ergonomic body back contour
An original body shape designed with a contemporary aesthetic in mind.
The slim body contour and generous elbow contour create a sense of unity between the player and the guitar, significantly contributing to improved playability.
Additionally, the deep body curve ensures excellent maneuverability when cradling the guitar or on stage, delivering superior playability.
The radius of the corners differs between the front and back of the body, creating an ergonomic design that provides an immediate sense of fit the moment you pick up the guitar, whether sitting or standing.

AZ-Exclusive Oval C-Shaped S-TECH WOOD Roasted Maple 1-Piece Neck & Fingerboard
This original neck shape was developed by measuring and analyzing the neck grips of dozens of guitar models, both from our own company and others.
The neck is shaped to slope gently from the joint between the fingerboard and neck down to the fingerboard edge, creating a “Comfort Grip” with a rounded fingerboard edge.
This shape is precisely and reliably reproduced through ball-milling.
The shape is specifically designed to ensure a comfortable grip in the lower fret area and to facilitate classical-style playing—where the thumb rests on the back of the neck—as you move up to the higher frets.
It uses maple wood that has undergone “Estec” treatment, a nitrogen heat-treatment technology.
Estec-treated wood is characterized by dimensional stability, resistance to warping, water resistance, and resistance to temperature changes, and the technology is patented in Japan.
The finish is an oil finish that replicates the texture of a well-played guitar neck.

Furthermore, to ensure that the sound does not get muffled even during wide-range bends and to minimize stress on the fingers and hands during chord playing, we addressed multiple challenges—including the combination with the neck—through several prototypes and repeated trial and error, ultimately arriving at a 305mmR fingerboard.
Jumbo-sized stainless steel frets are used.

Super All Access Neck Joint
The “Super All Access” neck joint achieves exceptional playability by recessing the body by 8 mm from the back and finishing the joint with the neck in a spherical shape.
The cutaway on the bass string side is designed to be shallow, and by maximizing the contact area between the body and the neck, it achieves both excellent sustain and resonance while maintaining high playability.

Hyperion Pickups Co-Developed with Seymour Duncan
We acquired more than dozens of different pickups and measured the frequency characteristics of each one.
From among them, we identified the specifications and sound profile deemed optimal for AZ, and through a collaboration with Seymour Duncan—a company synonymous with pickup brands that boasts a long history while continuing to pursue new initiatives—we created these pickups exclusively for AZ.
These custom pickups are designed with a slightly reduced output to ensure that the clean character of the original sound remains even when distorted, with a focus on picking responsiveness and reproducibility.
From treble to bass, and from the 1st to the 6th string, we prioritized overall balance above all else and sought to ensure the pickups respond well to effects.
All pickups feature Alnico-5 magnets.

dyna-MIX 10 switching system with Alter switch
With a single flip of the mini-switch, you can freely switch between humbucker and single-coil modes, giving you 10 different sound variations.
You can switch to Power Tap mode to achieve an authentic single-coil sound. Featuring special wiring that taps one coil while preserving the low-end of the other, this mode delivers clear high frequencies and a thick, well-defined sound that cannot be achieved with a standard tap.

Ibanez T1802 Tremolo Bridge (manufactured by Gotoh) with Titanium Saddles
This bridge is a reimagined version of the GOTOH 510 bridge—widely regarded by many players and guitar brands as the definitive tremolo bridge—developed through a collaboration between Ibanez and GOTOH.
Featuring a hard-machined titanium saddle and a machined steel inertia block—which achieve both a quick attack and a solid, fat sound—it is also characterized by its sustained high frequencies.
The narrow-spacing design features a 10.5mm string spacing, designed to make it easier to pick across strings—a requirement for players who frequently use skipping or hybrid picking techniques.
It also features an arm socket compatible with the Ibanez Edge tremolo arm and the Ultra-Light Tremolo Arm (carbon fiber/UTA20/sold separately).
The tremolo arm can be snapped into place without having to screw it in like traditional arms.
The tremolo arm’s tension can be easily adjusted by turning the torque cap at the arm mounting point.
In addition, it comes standard with a stud lock mechanism that contributes significantly to tuning stability and resonance by securely fastening the arm with a set screw embedded in the stud.
It features a two-point floating design that enables smooth arm movement and arm-up action.

Gotoh Magnum Lock machine heads with H.A.P. function for adjustable post height
Features Gotoh Magnum Lock machine heads, renowned for their tuning stability.
Equipped with the H.A.P. (Height Adjustable Post) mechanism, the post height can be adjusted to achieve the proper tension for each string.

Luminlay Phosphorescent Side Dot Fretboard Inlays
The guitar features Luminlay glow-in-the-dark side dot position inlays, which offer excellent visibility and adapt to rapidly changing performance environments caused by lighting changes.

Cowbone Nut
Features an oil-impregnated cow bone nut.
This nut provides excellent string slippage, which greatly contributes to tuning stability, while also delivering resonance reminiscent of vintage guitars.

Spring-Muting Rubber
A rubber spring mute is installed to suppress the “resonance” of the springs that often occurs on tremolo-bridge-type guitars.
