The BTB866SC is the 2022 model that carries on this concept, featuring improved playability and a completely revamped sound.
It has been significantly updated with changes to the combination of frets, fingerboard, and body materials, as well as modifications to the pickups and EQ, and now features a finger lamp.

~Features~
Ash top / Okoume / Ash wings, BTB single-cut body
The wing-body design, with the neck sandwiched between the two wings, features a laminated structure combining ash—known for its clear, resonant sound—with okoumé, which is rich in mid-to-low frequency characteristics.
The ash top is finished in “Weathered Black” to highlight its grain, and the color contrast with the okoumé back and the ash layers in between enhances the instrument’s boutique appeal.
Additionally, to achieve rich sustain, this single-cut body features a neck-to-body joint at the 12th fret on the thick-string side without a cutaway.
The back of the upper horn section features a scooped contour to ensure improved accessibility.

Neck-through construction, 35" extra-long scale
The long sustain and rich resonance provided by the neck-through construction, along with the seamless playing feel across the entire fretboard, are arguably the BTB’s greatest features.
It also features a 35-inch extra-long scale, which provides ample tension on the low B string and adds clarity to the low end.

5-piece Maple/Walnut neck with graphite reinforcement rods
A 5-piece neck combining maple—known for its clear tone and strong attack—with hard walnut. Rigidity is enhanced by graphite rods installed inside the neck.

Rosewood fretboard with medium stainless steel frets
Rosewood, the most popular material for fretboards, is used here for its well-balanced sound.
The frets are made of stainless steel, known for their bright tone and high durability.

Bartolini BH2 pickups & Finger ramp
Equipped with Bartolini BH2 pickups, which deliver a well-balanced, warm response with a tight low end and rich midrange.
It comes standard with a specially designed matte black finger ramp that ensures stable playing position and is color-coordinated with the body top (it is pre-installed and cannot be removed).

Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ with Mid Frequency Switch
This equalizer produces a wide-range, low-noise active sound. (Powered by a 006P alkaline battery)
By toggling the switch, you can adjust the mid-frequency range—the cornerstone of bass sound—to 250 Hz, 450 Hz, or 700 Hz.

MR5 Bridge
This model features the MR5 (Monorail) bridge, which has an independent structure for each string that minimizes interference from the vibrations of other strings.
The saddles are secured to the bridge body with screws, ensuring that string vibrations are transmitted more reliably to the body.

Neutrik Locking Jack
We’ve equipped this model with a Neutrik locking jack that securely locks the plug in place, ensuring a reliable playing experience.
