The SRD model is designed to meet the diverse needs of fretless basses in a variety of playing situations.
3-dimensional arched Okoume wood body and exotic maple top specially designed for SRD
Okoume wood body with rich mid-low range characteristics, which is the key to the bass sound, and maple wood top with attack and crisp high range characteristics. (wax gloss finish).
Half hollow, half solid body construction
Half of the body on the bass string side is hollow construction to obtain a full low-end tone with a sense of body resonance, which is the key to the fretless sound.
30-fret fingerboard (panga-panga wood) for 2.5-octave expression
The 30-fret fingerboard is made of hard Pangapanga wood for players who play technically up to the high-fret zone. (Fret lines on the fingerboard are made of black resin.)
Slim neck with ultimate shaping for "easy grip for all players.
Nordstrand "Big Break" magnetic pickups and Ibanez "Aero Silk" piezo pickups
The "Big Break" pickup is modeled after the excellent tone character of Nordstrand's classic Big Single pickup, but with a split-coil construction that has a high noise cancellation effect. This pickup was jointly developed by Ibanez and Nordstrand, and was completed in pursuit of a more boomy sound in the lower register.
The piezo pickup in the saddle on the bridge allows for an upright bass-like approach to the sound.
2-band EQ & active tone control
In addition to independent volume controls for each pickup, the magnetic pickup has a 2-band equalizer for intuitive sound creation, and the piezo pickup has a tone control for versatile sound creation. The piezo has a tone control.
A trim accessible from the back of the body allows the volume of the piezo pickups to be controlled for each string. (Powered by 1 x 006P alkaline battery)
