We are pleased to announce the arrival of a 2016 Gretsch G6134CS 1958 Penguin Dakota Red Relic Stephen stern!

The Gretsch Custom Shop is made by a small number of builders at Fender's Corona factory.

This guitar is made by Stephen stern, a master builder who is called a master of archtop guitar making in Gretsch Custom Shop.
This is a very valuable guitar produced by Stefan Stern, a master builder of archtop guitars in Gretsch Custom Shop.

Stefan Stern is a master archtop guitar builder. After graduating from high school, Stefan served a five-year apprenticeship with a high-end furniture maker before moving on to become a guitar builder at Jackson/Charvel.
After joining Custom Shop in 1993, he studied under some of the world's leading archtop guitar artists, including Jimmy D'Aquisto and Bob Benedetto, gaining more knowledge and insight into archtop guitar building.

We are pleased to announce the arrival of a 2016 G6134-CS 1958 PENGUIN, finished in the rare Dakota Red.

It has an all lacquer lacquer finish with weather checks throughout.

The mahogany body is chambered with a maple top, mahogany neck, and ebony fingerboard.

The fingerboard has thumbnail inlays, and the V-shaped head, similar to that of the Falcon, is decorated with the vertical logo.

Parts include Grover imperial tuners on the pegs, arrow knobs, Cadillac tailpiece, and penguin pickguard.

The parts have also been reliced to give it an outstanding atmosphere.

Two TV Jones "TV Classic" PUs are installed.
The output has the warmth of a hollow structure, but with the crisp and sparkling tone of a Gretsch.
The output tone is warm and clear, which is typical of Gretsch.

The details are unknown, but there are a few buckle marks and scratches and dings that seem to have been added later.
The paint is peeling on the back of the neck.

Fenderコロナ工場の一角で少数のビルダーにより制作されるGretsch Custom Shop。

そのGretsch Custom Shopの中でもアーチトップギター製作の達人と呼ばれるマスタービルダー
ステファン・スターンによって制作された大変貴重な一本です。

ステファン・スターンは、アーチトップギター製作の達人です。高校卒業後、高級家具メーカーで5年間見習いとして経験を積んだステファンは、Jackson/Charvelでギタービルダーとしての道を進みます。
1993年にCustom Shopに入ってからはジミー・ダキストとボブ・ベネデットといった世界を代表するアーチトップギター・アーティストに師事し、アーチトップギター製作の知識と洞察を深めていきます。

この度入荷した個体は2016年製のG6134-CS 1958 PENGUIN でレアなダコタレッドにてフィニッシュされた一本です。

オールラッカーのレリック仕上げでびっしりとウェザーチェックが入れられています。

チェンバードのマホガニーボディにメイプルトップ、マホガニーネックにエボニー指板といったウッドマテリアル。

指板にはサムネイルインレイ、ファルコンと同様のV字型のヘッドにはヴァーチカルロゴがあしらわれています。

パーツ類ではペグにGroverのインペリアルチューナー、アローノブ、キャデラックテールピース、ペンギン入りのピックガード等を採用。

パーツ類にもレリックが施されており雰囲気抜群です。

PUにはTV Jonesの「TV Classic」を2機搭載。
ホロウ構造ならではの温かみがありつつもGretschらしいカラッとしたきらびやかな
トーンをアウトプット。

レリック仕様のため詳細は不明でございますが、あとから付いたと思われるバックル跡や傷打痕が
多少見受けられます。

ネック裏に塗装が剥がれている箇所がありこちらも使用によりついたものと思われます。
