In the 1960s, guitars that looked visually appealing began to appear with the spread of television. The Hummingbird (first manufactured in 1960) was followed by the Dove in 1962, which became popular for its fashionable design. In Japan, it became known through Alice's Shinji Tanimura and Kaguyahime's Minami Kosetsu during the folk boom, and copycat models were made. A dove inlaid with mother-of-pearl on the pickguard is eye-catching. The sides and back are made of maple, as on the SJ-200, adding to the visual beauty of the guitar. While colorful guitars have become more common in recent years, the Hummingbird and the Dove, with their pictorial designs and inlays on the pickguard, are still representative of the fashionable acoustic guitars of today. The Dove features a long scale.
This guitar is from the Original Collection series, made in 2023. It has a vintage look, but it is equipped with pickups as standard equipment, making it a ready-to-play item for live performances. Dove has long used maple for the neck, but switched to mahogany in October 2021. The neck of this guitar is made of mahogany.

There are some dents, scratches, and tarnish on the metal parts. The neck is in good condition, and the truss rod has been confirmed to operate at 60 degrees left and right. The frets have been rubbed together and are not dented, and more than 90% of the height remains. Both playability and sound are perfect.
The maple side and back give the guitar a fat and thick feel with a clear resonance. It has an elegant look, but it also has the wildness that is typical of Gibson. Such a one-of-a-kind character is appealing. Recommended.
