USED Gibson USA / 1995 ES-165 Herb Ellis with 490R Sunburst [11]

Signature Gibson ES-165 by jazz great Herb Ellis.
Unlike the original 1953 ES-175, it has an all figured maple/poplar/maple body, mahogany neck, and rosewood fingerboard. It has a zigzag trapeze tailpiece and a tune-o-matic bridge mounted on a rosewood bass. The headstock features a gold logo and Herb Ellis' signature. The pickups are equipped with 490Rs, and this is a pre-2004 spec change.
The round and sweet sound and the soft airy feel of the full acoustic construction make this a gem with an oriented jazz sound.
It has been refretted. Two pots have been replaced due to defects.
There are light weather checks throughout.
Binding is burnt and metal parts are rusted.
Overall, the instrument shows signs of use such as age-related stains and scratches, but is considered to be in good condition considering its age.
The neck is in good playing condition with no noticeable abnormalities.
