スタインバーガーとは、Headless Guitar/Bassの代表的存在として多くのミュージシャンに愛用されているブランドで、もともと家具デザイナーであったネッド・スタインバーガーによって1980年に創立されました。
ネッド氏は創業前にスチェアート・スペクターと知り合った事をキッカケに楽器のデザインを手がけるようになり、1970年代後半にはSpector社の代表モデルであるNSシリーズの美しいボディーをデザインした事でも知られております。(NS＝Ned Steinbergerのイニシャル)
