USED MARTIN / D-18 [03]

The dependable sounding non-scalloped D-18!

The mahogany side and back D-18 is a guitar for professionals. It has been appreciated by studio musicians and technical guitarists. This 1979 D-18 features a square rod, non-scalloped bracing, and Grover pegs, and comes in a damaged but original blue case.
There are Martin Crack Correction marks and the pickguard has been replaced. The pickguard currently in place is unpainted, but has black beveled edges, which does not detract too much from the original appearance. There are some dings, scratches, weather checks, and some cloudy/rough paint, and the paint on the back of the neck is partially worn and peeling. The plating on the pegs is also slightly tarnished.
The guitar was already refretted upon arrival. The string height at the 12th fret is approximately 3.0mm on the 6th string side and 2.5mm on the 1st string side. The neck is in good condition, with no warping or ex-formation. The frets are slightly worn, but there is about 90% height remaining. Both playability and sound are perfect. The blue case that comes with the instrument has some cracks, chips, deformities, sunken studs, and the lid of the accessory case is missing.
It has some signs of use and deterioration, but has grown up reasonably well. It has a bold sound. You can enjoy the sound typical of the D-18 of this era with the warm resonance and crispness of the mahogany sides and back, while feeling the core of the non-scalloped bracing. This is a highly recommended instrument.
