USED GIBSON USA / EB-4L 1973 Walnut [03]

Gibson EB-4L made in 1973 is now in stock.

The EB-4L comes in a shiny Walnut color, with a mahogany body, 3-piece maple set neck, and rosewood fingerboard. This coloring was common in the first half of 1973. The two-point bridge also indicates that it was made in the first half of 1973.
Unlike the EB-0, the pickups have been changed, with the upper and lower pole pieces separated from each other, the position of the pickups further away from the joint, and a tone selector. Also, the pegs have been changed from thin clover pegs to rounded and thick heart-shaped pegs.

The serial number on the back of the head is "104098" and the pot date is "xxx-7320" on the volume side (the x is hidden by solder) and "137-7320" on the tone side, both of which indicate that it was made in 1973. Since the last 4 digits match and there is no trace of re-soldering, we judge them to be original. The pickup date was not written and could not be confirmed, but there are no traces of replacement here either, so we believe it is probably original.

The sound is full with boosted low end like EB, but the position of the pickups makes it more defined and easy to use even today. It has a glossy vintage warmth.

Neck is in good condition. The truss rod also works fine.

EB-4L is a relatively lightweight mahogany body model!
