USED Fender Custom Shop / MBS 1962 Jazz Bass Heavy Relic by Paul Waller Dakota Red [03]

Newly arrived is a 1962 model Jazz Bass made by Paul Waller, one of the "Senior Master Builders" in the Fender Custom Shop.
After joining Fender in 2003, Paul Waller studied under a number of master builders and was promoted to master builder in 2010, seven years after joining Fender. He built his first guitar when he was only 14 years old. He built his first guitar when he was only 14 years old, in the wood shop of the high school he attended. After graduating from high school, he worked in furniture stores and guitar makers before enrolling in the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery, a prestigious musical instrument making school in Phoenix, from which he graduated in 2000.

This 1962 Jazz Bass with Heavy Relic finish in Dakota Red is one of the most popular Jazz Basses of its era.
The body is made of carefully selected 2pc Alder with lacquer coating, 7.25R fingerboard is made of AAA Rosewood, and the nitrocellulose lacquer coated neck is made of roasted quarter-sawn maple. The material is designed for strength and stability while maintaining a traditional style. Twenty Vintage Upgrade 45085 frets are used. This model is known for its slightly taller, slightly wider vintage-like type stability.
Hand-Wound Vintage J-Bass pickups are used. This is a standard model with rich overtones and mellow tone like a real vintage pickup.

Overall, there are few signs of use, and there are almost no scratches that could be considered scratches other than the original relic process. The fretboard has a very small scratch around the 16th fret that does not interfere with playability, but it is not visible due to the original relic process.
The truss rod has plenty of room on both sides, and the frets are in good condition.

There are very few Master Builder guitars on the market, so you would not normally be able to find one of these.
