USED GIBSON / J-185 KOA [03]

A used 2004 U.S.-made J-185 KOA by Len Ferguson Custom, former master luthier at the GIBSON Montana factory, is now in stock.
Introduced in 1951 and discontinued in 1959, the J-185 is one of the most legendary flat-top guitars Gibson ever made; a slightly smaller design of the SJ-200, but with a richer sound than it looks.

This Len Ferguson Custom J-185 has a spruce top and koa back and sides, giving it a different shine than the maple wood normally used. The soundhole label is signed by Len Ferguson himself.
The sides and back are made of exotic yet elegant koa, with a beautifully balanced grain pattern. The spruce top and cream celluloid binding are in perfect harmony with the distinctive grain, creating a very elegant overall appearance.
The sound is responsive and has a strong, characteristic midrange. It has a warm tone with a clear attack that is unique to the J-185. It vibrates very well from body to head and responds well to the player's expressiveness.
There are some minor scratches such as dents and scuffs, but no noticeable flaws, and it is in relatively clean condition for a used instrument. The truss rod has more than 90 degrees of leeway. The frets have been grated.
A genuine hard case is included.
