This model is a tribute to the pre-war style J-35 that was produced in 1995 in a limited run of 250. This is the 66th one. It has a rectangular bridge with long saddles and a tiger stripe pickguard, but the headstock logo is inlaid with shells, and the fingerboard and bridge are ebony, which is a little twist on the design. The top bracing is scalloped, and the thin V-shaped neck is approximately 43 mm wide at the nut.
Slight weather checking has occurred. The overall appearance of the instrument is relatively clean, with only minor scratches, scuffs, paint fogging, and some tarnishing of metal parts visible. The pickguard has been reupholstered and the frets have been rubbed together by our repair department.
The neck is in good condition, and the truss rod has been checked for 60 degrees left and right. The frets have been rubbed, so there are no dents, and more than 80% of the fret height remains. Both playability and sound are perfect.
It has a dry tone typical of Gibson's round-shoulder models, with a pleasant jolting sound. It also has a moderate compression and sustain. Don't miss it!
