USED YAMAHA / SG-T See Through Navy -1988- [04]

A 1988 Yamaha SG-T See Through Navy has arrived in stock.

The SG-T debuted as Masayoshi Takano’s first signature model and is said to have been produced in a limited run of 200 units from 1988 to 1990. With few examples circulating on the used market, it is now an extremely rare model that commands high prices—likely due to the renewed popularity of Masayoshi Takano.With its beautiful See-Through Navy finish and unique look featuring palm tree motifs and “TAKANAKA” designs, it exudes a special presence that sets it apart from the standard SG series.

The body features a maple top and mahogany back. The neck employs the through-neck construction characteristic of Yamaha SG models and is equipped with an ebony fingerboard, an H-S-H pickup configuration, a 5-way selector switch, and the original locking tremolo. While offering the rich sustain typical of the SG-2000/3000 series, the tremolo unit and H-S-H configuration allow for a wider range of sound shaping.

There is one area of paint lifting near the top edge of the end pin, which is wrapped in an Avalon inlay on the body top.
Additionally, due to the passage of time, there are some paint cracks visible between the binding and the wood.

Otherwise, considering its age, this instrument is in clean condition, indicating that the previous owner took great care of it.

The neck has a slight forward bow on the G-string side, but it is at a level that does not interfere with setup or playability, and there is plenty of adjustment range left on the truss rod.
The frets show almost no wear, so the guitar is still ready for plenty of use.

The guitar comes with a flight case (featuring a Yamaha sticker), which was sold separately as an optional accessory at the time.
