Gibson Custom Shop / Historic Collection 1956 Les Paul Gold Top Reissue in used condition!

The 1956 model was a transitional year as the specifications were changing to those of the modern Les Paul, with a mix of old and new looks and sounds. 56 had a single-coil P-90 pickup, which was replaced by a humbucker from 1957, and from late '55 the bridge changed from a stop-bar bridge with integrated tailpiece to a tune-o-bar bridge.

In late '55, the bridge was changed from a stop bar bridge with an integrated tailpiece to a tune-o-matic, which is characterized by the powerful vintage feel of the P-90, the stable sound of the thick neck, and the modern sustain of the tune-o-matic. The straight sound, especially with the front pickup, is superb.

There are some dents and scratches, but playability is good, including the truss rod. Please consider this a good opportunity to buy.
