Extremely Rare! A beautiful pre-owned Stratocaster 70th Anniversary model ordered by the American music store "Chicago Music Exchange" has arrived!

In 2024, Fender Stratocaster celebrated its 70th anniversary, and the Masterbuilt and Teambuilt series were released by the Custom Shop. This particular one is a special order from Chicago Music Exchange, a famous music store in the U.S.! It was built by Todd Krause, a senior master builder who has worked on Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck models. First of all, the body is made of sassafras instead of ash, which is a surprising specification. Back in 1954, Fender was considering whether to use ash or sassafras for the body material of the Stratocaster. In short, Stratocasters are now being produced in ash wood as a matter of course, but there was a possibility that it might have been sassafras wood. Currently, Eric Johnson owns an original sassafras Stratocaster from 1954. At that time, perhaps some of them were produced in sassafras. A truly fantastic guitar. And here is a used one, probably owned by a collector. It is a beauty, with hardly any signs of having been played. Neck is quarter-sawn maple with 70th anniversary Stratocaster back shape. Radius and frets are 7.25 Medium Vintage 47095 with Josefina Campos handwound 54 Strat pickups. The finish is NOS, except for the final buffing, which is Time Capsule spec. The hardware on the Time Capsule is a closet classic with minor scratches and dullness. And the key to this piece is that it has actually been aged in several places, and as noted on the traveler's sheet (spec sheet), it is "Super Aged" on the body. If you look closely to see where the aging process has taken place, you will find a few paint cracks near the jack and on the body back. There are also some small dents a few millimeters in diameter. It is unclear if these are original to Todd Kraus or if Chicago Music Exchange requested them, but it is true that when cracks appear, they often appear near the screw holes. It is hard to imagine that this is one of the miracles that could not be ordered by Japanese dealers!
