Based on the sound image of the Jan Ray, a drive pedal for VEMURAM guitars, the DJ1 mixes a clean channel with boosted original sound and a drive channel tuned for bass at Darryl's own request, to achieve a core drive sound that does not lose low frequencies or get buried in a band ensemble. The drive sound is achieved without losing low frequencies and without being buried in the band's ensemble.
Some NOS parts are used inside, and Darryl is thoroughly committed to that tone.

A prototype has already been used by the Stones on tour for several years, and feedback from the field has led to many improvements. The headroom is also quite large, so it can be used like a booster.
The trimmer on top can be used to adjust the overall saturation (SAT) and the mid (MID) of the clean channel.
This makes it a very versatile drive pedal for bass guitar, from boost, preamp, overdrive, to distortion.
The pedal has some signs of use, such as scratches and dirt, but there are no operational problems.
