1960年代初期のプレシリアル期のダウンビートスネア！プレシリアルです。
この時期は5インチのジャズフェスが有名ですが、ダウンビートは流通量も少なく、レア度も高めです。
3plyのウッドシェルはマホガニー/ポプラ/マホガニのようで、メイプルレインフォースメント付き、インナーに白塗りが施されております。(エッジまで白いので塗り直しの可能性あります)
カラーはブルースパークルで、こちらはオリジナルのようです。
また、パーツはニッケルフィニッシュで経年によりくすんでいますが、これはこれで非常に味わい深いです。
フープもブラスフープですので、ピッコロながらも音像に太さがあり、4インチならではのキレ味と、この時期のラディックのウッドシェルならではの丸みが調和したファンキーなサウンドです。
全体的に年式相応の使用感、経年感は感じられますが、サウンドは良好。
特に不具合のみられる箇所もなく、使用には全く問題はございません。
ヘッド若干使用感あり、スナッピーはオリジナルです。
サウンドもルックスもファンキーな、60年代ラディックらしさを味わえる1台です。

Downbeat snare from the early 1960s pre-serial period! Pre-Serial.
This period is famous for its 5" Jazzfests, but downbeats are less common and more rare.
The 3ply wood shell appears to be mahogany/poplar/mahogany, with maple reinforcement, and painted white on the inner. (It is white to the edges and may be repainted.)
The color is blue sparkle, which appears to be original here.
Also, the parts are nickel finish, dulled by age, but this is very tasteful.
The hoop is also a brass hoop, so even though it is a piccolo, it has a thicker sound image and a funky sound that blends the sharpness of a 4-inch piccolo with the roundness of a Ruddick wood shell from this period.
Overall, the sound is good, although there are some signs of use and age commensurate with its age.
There are no particular defects, and there are no problems with use at all.
The head has some signs of use, and the snappy is original.
The sound and looks are funky, and you can enjoy the 60's Raddick style.
