This model was first released by Gibson in 1958, but was initially shunned because of its radical design, and production ended after only a few shipments. The most distinctive feature of this model is the Korina used for the body material, which is also used in the model name. The body is made of Collina, which is lighter than mahogany, so it has good mid to high frequency range, and the sound is very easy to handle, even though the V shape tends to lean strongly toward the midrange.

The neck condition is currently fine. The truss rod can be adjusted about 90 degrees in the tightening direction. Overall, there are some signs of use commensurate with the age of the instrument. There are dents on the top and back of the body with paint chips and wood chips. Other minor dents are scattered throughout. There are scratches on the buckle. There are picking scratches. There are rust and tarnish on metal parts. The strap pin has been replaced with a locking type, but the strap side is missing. The pegs have been replaced.

Neck condition is currently fine.
Truss rod has 90 degrees of tightness remaining.
About 70% frets remaining.
String height on 12F 6th string side: approx. 2.0mm, 1st string side: approx. 1.5mm
