Ovation 1868-5 (ELITE) made in USA is now in stock.
The "5" next to the model name in numerical notation is a color number and means "black".
The serial number "504994" stamped on the back side of the headstock indicates that it was made in 1996.
The body is super shallow (the thinnest thickness, so it can be played as if it were an electric guitar) with a cutaway (1st string side).
Although this guitar is 29 years old, the under-saddle pickups with preamp are in good working order.
Also, the control knobs and EQ slide switch and push SW are in good condition.
The relatively simple preamp configuration is not equipped with a tuner function... This may be a desirable simplicity considering the historical circumstances of tuner evolution.

Overall Condition
There are some scratches and minor dents on the body, but there are no noticeable dents on the body.
The headstock has a 8mm wide scratch mark on the tip of the headstock, but there is no noticeable damage to the neck grip, so it does not look like it has been abused or played roughly.
There are some cracks and deterioration of the plating (especially on the knobs) on the Schaller M6 gold pegs, but they are not imitation damages, but natural damages.

Contents of professional repair work
There was a peeling of adhesion on the book-matched part of the center 2-piece Sitka spruce body top, so we used wooden repair patches inside the body to correct the bumps and re-glue, and partially repainted (spot area repair work) and buffed the area. You may rest assured.
In addition, after neck adjustment, a series of fret filing (rubbing together) has been performed, so you can rest assured.

Neck condition: No problem as it is now.
There is enough room for the truss rod.
About 80% frets remaining.
String height on 12F 6th string side: approx. 2.0mm, 1st string side: approx. 1.5mm
