USED Ibanez / GB10 George Benson Signature Model Brown Sunburst 1978 [10]

1978 Benson model with a small full acoustic body and floating PU!

The body size is 14.5", the smallest of this period, with a spruce top and maple side backs. The neck is 3pcs of maple, and the fingerboard is ebony with 21F specification until 1979.

The body has wipe scratches, scuffs, line scratches, small dents, and deterioration of each binding. There are paint cracks under the top bridge and under the body. There is a scratch under the bridge where it moved. There is a jack sink mark on the body side jack area, and the side area has been oversprayed to repair it. The binding has cracks and some chips, but they are preventing the collapse that is common when overplaying. The back of the body does not have any noticeable buckle scratches, but there are scratches and lines commensurate with the age of the instrument. The neck heel cap barely retains its original shape, but it can be heard when pressed with a finger, so please do not touch it too much as you would your own scabs. There is a line scratch on the upper left side of the back of the head and a scratch around the head. There is also a paint crack around the head logo. There is a sponge on the side of the rear PU to ensure height stability, but please be assured that it can be removed normally. Each knob may have been changed. Each hardware is gold and has some chrome fall off and some chinks.

The neck condition is fine, and the truss rod can be adjusted to tighten or loosen. There are no string marks on the frets and about 80% of the frets are left. Currently, the string height is adjusted at about 2.0mm on the 12F 6th string side and about 1.5mm on the 1st string side.

Overall, the jack has been repaired and the binding has deteriorated, but the guitar is still in good condition. The rest of the instrument shows signs of use and age commensurate with its age. The fret height and neck condition are in good condition and can be played with confidence! George Benson" has many followers! The style of this guitar is a little like a smaller version of Johnny Smith's, but with more character. He can sing and dance (and roller skate!) just like himself. You can't miss the ease with which he handles himself. This is one you should check out, even if you are not a fan!
