2016 Japanese-made, all-maho 500 Series in stock!

The 500 series is slightly larger than the smaller 100 series and has a body shape that allows for more raw sound. It is made of Honduran mahogany with a solid top and back. The neck is mahogany with a scale of 644mm and a nut width of 42.5mm. The fingerboard and bridge are ebony. The preamp is a CT4-DX, which can control two pickups and is currently equipped with a contact mic by the bridge as well as the original under-saddle type, which can also pick up body hits.

There is only a thin sesame seed sized ding in the center of the top of the body under the bridge, but due to its satin finish, it does not show much signs of use. The preamp works fine.

The neck is in good condition, and the truss rod can be adjusted to tighten or loosen. There are no string marks on the frets and about 90% of the strings are left. The current string height is adjusted at about 2.5mm on the 12F 6th string side and about 2.0mm on the 1st string side. The saddle height still has a little leeway, and the adjustment range here is small but still possible.

Overall, we can recommend this guitar to those who are considering a new one with little signs of use. The raw sound is powerful like a Takamine, and when plugged in, the Takamine is in its element! It covers from a realistic sound where the contact mic even picks up the sound of touching the body to a sound with good under-saddle piezo-like separation!
